- Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Park - the canyon is a mile wide and 10 miles long; 45 miles of hiking trails
- Wailua Falls - the falls cascades into a hidden pool
- Mountain tubing adventure: a van takes through Lihue's old sugar cane plantation, then you'll get into an inner tube and glide leisurely down miles of tropical waterways (you wear a headlamp), at the end of the tubing you may have a picnic lunch next to a natural swimming hole (Mountain Tubing, Kauai Backcountry Adventures 888 270-0555) they also offer zip line tours
